Gender Inclusivity in the Workplace A Practical Guide
Initiative Background
This project is supported by the Pilot Fund for Gender Equality, a collaboration between Community Foundations of Canada and the Equality Fund, with support from the Government of Canada.
Seeking to support equality among genders, this project focuses on education as a crucial step towards shifting economic, political, and social power. Aiming to increase capacities (knowledge, attitudes and skills), the project hopes to fill a gap in supporting people and organisations to enhance their practice. Using an intersectional approach, the guide provides knowledge and practical tools and strategies to help frontline service providers, teams and leaders in the non-profit sector to advance gender inclusivity in the workplace.
Some of the main topics that will be covered in this guide include:
- Gender equity and gender inclusivity: definitions
- What gender inclusivity looks like in our organizations
- How to apply a gender lens to policy, communication, programming, and service delivery
- Practical ideas for challenging gender-based discrimination, sexism, and homo/trans-phobia at work
