Organizational Assessment for Diversity and Inclusion

Continuing to support FCSS-funded organizations with their Diversity and Inclusion capacity building strategies, the Centre for Race and Culture, Multicultural Health Brokers Co-op, and Creating Hope Society have partnered together to deliver Organizational Assessment workshops to help advance the adoption and promotion of diversity and inclusion principles.

In this interactive workshop, we will review the general concepts around diversity and inclusion, and provide examples of inclusive practices. Then we will provide an orientation to the assessment tool, which presents a framework for understanding and assessing inclusion from a holistic standpoint and is designed to help organizations better meet the needs of diverse communities. The facilitators will help the participants work through the questions on the tool in order to build understanding of the questions, and the basis upon which areas are identified by the assessment as target areas. In addition to providing an opportunity for organizations to self-identify their own strengths and priorities for D&I work within their individual organizational context, the workshop is an opportunity for organizations to network with one another and continue building their collaborative capacity to discuss and learn from one another about diversity and inclusion.

Note: Organizations are asked to identify 2-4 individuals from their organization can take the lead in conducting a self-assessment during and after the workshop.
