CRC Board Thanks Charlene Hay for her Service
As you know, Charlene Hay recently retired as Executive Director of the Centre for Race and Culture. First and foremost we want to thank Charlene for a lifetime of dedication to creating inclusive environments and eliminating racism - a personal belief which translated into the vision and over 20 years of work in challenging systems, structures and biases through education, research and programs at CRC. Thousands of participants, families and organizations benefited from programs, projects and research during Charlene’s tenure. Taking a look at her impact through the programs she supported in partnership with our communities is evidence of her passion and determination to eliminate racism:
• Peace Ambassadors
• Bamboo Shield
• Keshotu Leadership Academy
• Oti Nikan Leadership Academy
Advanced Anti Racism In Edmonton Schools
• Migrant Routes
• Aboriginal Attendance Circle
• March 21 Annual Campaign
• CRC Consulting
• Cultural Crossroads
• And SOOO much more !
We wish to thank Charlene for her endless dedication and energy to making a difference in Edmonton, in the province and in building a strong foundation for us to continue this work. And we look forward to following in the next steps of her journey while she continues mentorship work with the CRC.
Sincerest well wishes,
CRC Executive Committee and Board
